The Jamaica Sargassum Early Advisory System (JSEAS) website is now live.
JSEAS was developed by the Mona Mona GeoInformatics Institute (MGI), University of Southampton and partners! The system was built especially for parties with interests in fishing, tourism, coastal leisure, business infrastructure, critical infrastructure, and marine navigation.
This groundbreaking system is set to revolutionize the way we monitor, alert, and advise the public on Sargassum offshore presence and beaching.
JSEAS was successfully launched on January 11, 2024 at the Courtleigh Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica.
