Website Developer for the Department of Environment, Antigua
Mona GeoInformatics Institute (MGI) was responsible for the update and management of the Department of Environment Antigua and Barbuda’s (DOE ATG) website. The main objective of this assignment was to ensure that the website effectively communicates a wide range of critical information, including details on the SIRF Fund, Educational Programme, Outreach and Public Awareness initiatives, DOE ATG Programmes and Projects, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Process, Environmental Information Systems, and ongoing News and Events. Additionally, the website provides access to Procurement and Opportunities, information on Partners and Contact details, a Complaints and Redress mechanism, Grant and Loan Awards, Reports and Evaluations, relevant Policies and Laws, an Education Library, Environmental Management Systems, and a Site Map.
Importantly, the website was also developed to serve as the primary portal for the disclosure of information required by donor agencies and in accordance with the legislative framework of Antigua and Barbuda. Moreover, the platform was designed to be the main access point for future online data management systems, such as the Environment Registry and Pollution Registry, with built-in flexibility to allow seamless integration of these and other upcoming platforms. Emphasis was placed on user-friendly design to ensure DOE ATG staff and the Government IT team could easily update and maintain the website, while also providing the public with straightforward access to the full breadth of DOE ATG’s information and services.
