The Caribbean Cyclone Cartography (CCC) project investigates and maps survivor-led hurricane recoveries past & present, with the goals of:
Promoting informed ecological citizenship
Building an inclusive public knowledge base to guide future hurricane preparedness, responses & reconstruction in Dominica & the greater Caribbean.
Working in various communities including rural communities as well as the indigenous Kalinago people. The project also worked with women’s farmers group to build water irrigation systems for their farms.
The ultimate aim is to create a digital archive that spatially maps & communicates hurricane ‘resilience’ from below – through social histories, ethnography, visual arts interventions, an architecture survey, an agri-knowledge exchange and GIS hazard mapping.
